Jose M. Dizon, MD

Dr. Dizon has been at the Columbia University Medical Center since 1991, where he did his cardiology and electrophysiology training. He has remained on full-time staff and maintains a busy clinical practice, with offices in White Plains and in the medical center in upper Manhattan.

Dr. Dizon's area of clinical expertise include cardiac arrhythmia management, including ablation of arrhythmias and device therapy. He has an active teaching interest, having mentored many students and fellows. He has participated in numerous multicenter and investigator initiated studies, and has authored or co-authored over 70 peer reviewed articles and abstracts.

The main focus is to provide state of the art clinical care for the whole range of cardiac arrhythmia problems, from benign to life threatening. Treatment options may include drug therapy, intracardiac ablation, or implantable devices. The experience and expertise of a large, academic medical center is at our disposal.

Teaching Responsibilities

Part of primary faculty in electrophysiology fellowship training program.  Supervision of fellows performing procedures, assessment of clinical skills, delivering lectures.

CCU service for housestaff 4 to 6 weeks/year

Arrhythmia consult service 8 weeks/year

Preceptor for medical students in MD/PhD clinical exposure course.

Chief of Service rounds for medical housestaff every 6 weeks

Lectures and workshops for medical student cardiology course
