Sabahat Bokhari, MD is an Associate Professor of Medicine-Cardiology at Columbia University Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital, College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University in New York. Dr. Bokhari is an academic cardiologist with a clinical and research focus on cardiovascular imaging. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Nuclear Cardiology. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed a fellowship in cardiology at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center and The National Heart and Lung Institute, where his training focused on clinical cardiology and cardiac imaging. He has been a full time faculty at Columbia University Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital since 1999.

Dr. Bokhari is the author or coauthor of over 170 papers, abstracts, and book chapters. He serves as a reviewer for numerous medical journals and has served on various practice guideline committees. He has also served as an invited speaker for many organizations, including the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and the Society of Nuclear medicine. He has been a principal or co-investigator on several funded grants from National Institute of Health, American Society of Nuclear cardiology, as well as other research foundations. Dr. Bokhari has been involved in multiple Phase II, III and IV clinical trials, studying new cardiac stress agents, new SPECT/PET radioisotopes, plaque imaging, cardiac amyloidosis imaging, cardiac sarcoidosis imaging, myocarditis imaging and developing software for quantification of coronary flow reserve software.
