The U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings evaluate more than 4,500 hospitals across the U.S. based on a combination of objective data and expert opinion. For heart care, the evaluation includes metrics such as survival rates, patient outcomes, nurse staffing, use of advanced technology, and national reputation among board-certified cardiologists.

In this year’s report, Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital was not only ranked #2 for Cardiology & Heart Surgery, it was also ranked the #1 hospital in New York and was the only New York hospital to rank in the top 20 across all 14 represented specialties.
