Geraldine Ong, MD

Overview

Géraldine Ong, MD, is a cardiologist specializing in interventional echocardiography and structural heart disease at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Her clinical expertise centers on advanced cardiovascular imaging for transcatheter structural heart procedures. Her broader clinical interests include diagnosis and management of aortic valve disease and aortic disease.

Dr. Ong completed her medical degree at the University of Montreal and her internal medicine and cardiology training at Laval University. She subsequently completed an echocardiography fellowship at St. Michael’s Hospital/University of Toronto, followed by echocardiography research fellowships at the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, and the Quebec Heart and Lung Institute/Laval University. She also earned a Master of Science from Laval University.

Her scholarly work focuses on structural heart imaging, valvular heart disease, and transcatheter mitral and tricuspid and aortic valve interventions. She has contributed to multicenter studies and registries evaluating transcatheter tricuspid valve repair and replacement, mitral valve interventions, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement. She also serves in national and international professional roles related to structural heart imaging, valve disease, clinical trials, and scientific program development.
