Lauren Sharan Ranard, MD, MS is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, echocardiography and cardiovascular computed tomography. Dr. Ranard has expertise in complex coronary interventions and structural heart disease with a focus on transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), percutaneous mitral valve repair and replacement, atrial septal defect and patent foramen ovale closure, and left atrial appendage closure.
Dr. Ranard is an attending physician at the Columbia Structural Heart and Valve Center and Columbia Interventional Cardiovascular Care at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Ranard is a full-time faculty member and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
Dr. Ranard is a faculty member of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation. As a member of the CT Core Lab, she evaluates the cardiac imaging for multiple ongoing clinical trials for structural interventions. She also has extensive experience in testing novel transcatheter devices in preclinical studies at the Skirball Center for Innovation. In addition, Dr. Ranard is actively involved in several first-in-human and early feasibility studies.
